This page is for anyone operating a crawler, an AI assistant or an automated agent that reads Just Piste.

Our own crawler

When we fetch data from another site (an official resort site, a tourist office, an airport's own page) our requests identify themselves with a User-Agent, so a site operator can always tell our traffic apart from a browser's.

Our crawler's current User-Agent is `JustPisteBot/1.0 (+https://justpiste.com/bot; hello@justpiste.com)`.

What we fetch, and how often

We only fetch pages we need to keep resort facts current — official resort and tourist-office sites, listed in full on data sources — and we read each site's own `robots.txt` before every batch of requests, honouring any path it disallows for our identity. Requests to any one host are spaced out rather than sent in a burst.

Reading Just Piste yourself

Every page has a Markdown twin at the same path with `.md` appended (or served when your request's `Accept` header prefers `text/markdown`) — a clean, citation-friendly version with a direct answer, a key-facts table and full source attribution, no HTML to parse. A structured facts feed is also available; see data sources for the terms it is offered under. llms.txt lists everything a language model or agent might want to fetch first.

Opting out

If you run a site we fetch from and would rather we did not, add a rule for our User-Agent token to your `robots.txt` and we will honour it from our next scheduled run.
